Popular Kenyan gospel DJ Samuel Muraya, widely known as DJ Mo, is recovering in hospital after suspected robbers attacked him with pangas near Kenol in Murang’a County. The violent incident happened on March 13 when the attackers targeted the gospel entertainer while he travelled through the busy Kenol junction.
The shocking attack left DJ Mo nursing injuries after the suspects reportedly stole his phone and fled the scene. His wife, gospel singer Size 8 Reborn, confirmed the incident online, thanking God that her husband survived the terrifying encounter.

DJ Mo Attacked by Armed Robbers Near Kenol
DJ Mo reportedly encountered the attackers while passing through the busy Kenol junction, a major transport corridor linking Nairobi to central Kenya and other regions. According to early reports, the assailants confronted him with pangas and demanded valuables before violently attacking him.
The suspects managed to steal Muraya’s phone before escaping. The incident left the popular DJ injured, forcing him to seek medical attention shortly after the attack.
His wife, Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8 Reborn, later shared an emotional message online confirming the ordeal and expressing gratitude that the attack did not claim his life.
“Today, I post to give God glory for safeguarding my husband’s life, DJ Mo. He was in Kenol when thieves attacked him with a panga and took his phone,” she wrote.
Despite the frightening encounter, Size 8 said she remained grateful that her husband survived the attack. “Dear God, thank you for life,” she added.
Injuries Sustained During the Attack
DJ Mo suffered injuries to his arm during the attack. Videos circulating online show deep cuts on his arm believed to have been caused by the panga used by the attackers.
It remains unclear whether he sustained additional injuries beyond those seen in the videos. However, reports indicate that he is currently receiving treatment as doctors monitor his recovery.
The attack has raised fresh concerns about safety along some highways and busy junctions where motorists sometimes become targets of opportunistic criminals.
